Leavenworth ? Mike Lisher homered, Connor Stremel hit a pair of doubles, and Free State defeated Leavenworth, 9-3, on Thursday in high school baseball.

J.D. Prochaska earned his first victory of the season.

The Firebirds won their third straight and raised their record to 4-1.

“I don’t know that we were terribly sharp in every facet of the game,” Free State coach Mike Hill said, “but we were able to take care of business. To go on the road in the league and get a victory, there’s something to be said for that.”

The Firebirds will play Tuesday at Olathe East.
