Topeka ? Free State High’s volleyball team took second place Saturday at the Seaman Invitational.

The Firebirds (9-10) went 5-1 on the day, falling to Topeka Hayden in the finals, 2-0 (25-22, 25-16).

Free State defeated Junction City (25-9, 25-9), Colby (25-13, 25-15), St. Marys (25-17, 23-25, 25-22), Seaman (17-25, 27-25, 25-20) and Leavenworth in the seminfinals (25-24, 25-14).

Chantay Caron and Alex Mollohan were named the all-tournament team. Caron tallied 22 kills and 40 blocks in the tournament, and Mollohan had 44 kills, nine blocks and 11 aces.
