Veritas volleyball splits with Cair Paravel

? Veritas Christian and Topeka Cair Paravel played to a 1-1 tie on Thursday night in high school volleyball action.

Veritas was originally scheduled to play in a triangular, but the third team didn’t show.

The Eagles lost the first match to Cair Paravel (19-25, 26-24, 25-15), but came back to win the second match (25-20, 28-26).

Sarah McDermott led the Eagles with 21 kills and three blocks. Shelby Holmes added 18 kills, Shereen Fattaahi had nine service aces, and Teri Huslig produced 18 assists.

Veritas moved to 5-6 on the season. The Eagles will travel to Eudora to play in a triangular at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
