‘Science Feud’ to kick off educational series

The Kansas University College of Arts and Sciences will kick off its 2009 CLAS ACTS series with a “Science Feud” from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at West Junior High School, 2700 Harvard Road.

The event is a Family Feud-style trivia contest, with questions on discoveries and contributors to the field of science. Randomly selected teams will square off in four trivia rounds. Prizes will be awarded to teams in the event, which is free and open to the public.

The goal of the CLAS ACTS series, in its second year, is to share the knowledge of the faculty with the community in an entertaining way.

Other events in the series include a flamenco dance presentation on Nov. 1 at the Lawrence Arts Center, an international trivia competition on Feb. 7 at Liberty Hall, and an African-American music and writing performance in the late spring. All events will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
