No subsidies

To the editor:
Larry Day suggests that we give subsidies to arms manufacturers for NOT making and selling arms to Latin American nations (letter to the editor, Sept. 16). That won’t work. It won’t work for the same reason that U.S. farm subsidy programs failed: greed.
Farm subsidies led to corporate farming. Corporations bought and plowed up great swatches of land and put them into production. Then they took the land out of production to obtain subsidies.
Giving subsidies to arms manufacturers would yield the same result for the same reason: greed. Arms manufacturers would proliferate. They’d be paid NOT to manufacture and sell excess weapons to Third World countries.
I could become an arms manufacturer. So could Larry Day. And what happens if you are both farmer and arms manufacturer? Would the U.S. government allow double dipping?
Meantime, lobbyists would insert loopholes in the wording of the arms subsidy programs. The loopholes would guarantee that arms manufacturers would get their subsidies and that the Third World countries would get the arms. It’s a lose-lose plan.
Try again, Mr. Day.

The Reagan/Bush deregulation craze, Global Economy and The Reagan Bush Home Loan scandal wrecked the economy. Bush/Quale came along and continued down the road of wreckanomics. All of this activity put millions of people out of work.
Then Bush/Cheney lied and took us down the road of trillion dollar wars, another home loan scandal which has wrecked the economy and continued wreckanomics.
This equals 20 years of the last 29 that were wrecked by RINO Bush family of politicians.
They never told anyone during their campaigns they were going to wreck our economy
and put millions upon millions upon millions out of work and pass tax laws that encourage tax laws favoring outsourcing. The icing on the cake was deregulation that promoted the unemployment of america.
We know Reagan/Bush/Gingrich reckless RINO's are proud to have supported this reckless fiscal behavior as is noted by the blind loyalty to reckless wrecknomics.
The bottom line is no one can repair in a few months what 20 years of reckless RINO's did. Yes RINO's took the USA distinction as a world financial super power
down the tubes in 8 years. Talk about stupid and criminal.
Oh yes the Reagan/Bush family of politicians have long history of selling weapons to just about anybody as the Iran-Contra weapons deal symbolizes. Ole man Prescott Bush was a huge nazi supporter which is indicated by his weapons deals with the nazi's
These BUSHCO weapon deals have continued to the countries declared as evil or as known “enemies”. Yes the USA arms industry has armed Iran,Afghanistan,Pakistan and Iraq over the years.

I actually read one of your posts merrill. Reagan=RINO?
Sean Hannity would have a coronary if he were to read your post.
Nearly three decades of prosperity, sure the Reagans and Bush's and all the RINO's post-Carter, the worst president in the history of the US (spot currently being heavily challenged) have wrecked the economy. Why don't you mention Clinton and his dotcommer boom? Thanks for the chuckle.

Clinton and the dot com were not connected.
Yes I am absolutely implying that there is criminal behavior involved considering two different Bush administrations were in office for two different home loan scandals aka a pattern.
Jeb Bush and cousin George Walker were on Lehman Bros payroll when it went down.
The home loan scandals involved internal interests and Bush family members:

“I wonder if Merrill actually knows what RINO means because they way he uses it indicates that he does not.”
My reading comprehension skills lead me to conclude that Merrill is decrying the fiscal responsibility of the “Republican” party leaders since Reagan. I think it is generally known that the Republican Party, in the generation prior to Reagan's rise had been focused on fiscal prudence and good governance. Merrill reminds us that Reagan and the “leaders” he begat were (and are) far more concerned with tearing down good governance and recklessly spending the public coin on their ruinous and self serving agendas, than they are with any sort of responsibility. Thus, he comments that they are “Republican” in name only.
And he is right. As a result of their leadership the party of Lincoln is now a dwindling and motley collection of southern crackers, loony birthers and misguided teabaggers. You know, the sort who'd vote against funding for the DC subway system, then complain about the level of service he experienced when in DC to use the system to attend a rally to complain about excess government spending.

Sean Hannity should have a coronary. The news media would experience hope for substance instead of abuse.
RINO's slipped in under the radar and took over the republican party with financing from the Christian Right and PNAC thinkers who openly advocate for total global military domination. So many of these people have been in Nixon,Reagan/Bush,Bush/Quale and Bush/Cheney administrations. These are the fear and war mongers. These are the true facist in our government. These are the people who set up home loan scandals.
These are the people who LOTS of OUR money to push their global military domination of the world agenda. These are the thinkers taking over the middle east oil supplies.
Is it any wonder people of the mideast dislike USA government?
The Republican Party was not made up of such radical
thinkers that I can remember previous to Reagan/Bush.
RINO's = todays repub party simply cannot be trusted. Brownback is certainly one of these masters of deception.

Why certainly they are.
“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.” Al Gore, word-for-word
And the 'empty plate' dot-commer boom that imploded circa 2000 was the only reason Clinton appeared, repeat, appeared to have overseen a good economy. Clinton was riding high on Ronald Reagan's work in the 80's.

What connection does Al Gore's major support of the creation of an internet have to the creation of a dot com bubble?
You might also argue Dolph Simons agrees with all of my opinions since this web site allows me to express them.
