A Lawrence man was sentenced to 32 months in prison on Friday for molesting his 16-year-old daughter, Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson said.

Prosecutors said the 35-year-old man engaged in sexual relations with his child between Sept. 1, 2008, and Oct. 16, 2008. Lawrence police said the crime occurred in more than one location.

Officers began investigating the incest case when the victim’s out-of-state mother reported finding sexual pictures on her daughter’s cell phone, prosecutors said.

The defendant is not being named by the Lawrence Journal-World, to protect the identity of the victim who shares his last name.

He’ll be required to register as a sex offender and spend two years on probation once he’s released from prison, said Cheryl Wright, Branson’s spokeswoman.
