La Toya Jackson says Michael was ‘God-like’

New York — La Toya Jackson says her brother Michael looked “absolutely fabulous” when he was laid to rest last week.

In an interview on ABC’s “20/20,” she tells Barbara Walters that the King of Pop was dressed in white pearl beads and a big gold belt, “like a belt that you win being a boxer.”

“His hair was done beautifully, his makeup was done beautifully,” she says.

A pair of sunglasses and a white glove were among the items placed in the casket with him.

Michael Jackson’s death on June 25 from a fatal combination of drugs has been labeled a homicide by the coroner’s office. Prosecutors are still investigating, and no charges have been filed. But La Toya Jackson says she blames her brother’s death on “any and everybody” who gave him drugs.

“They’re doctors!” she says. “This is going against their license.”

She calls her brother “special,” explaining that “he wasn’t God, but he was certainly God-like. He was the closest thing to a god that I knew.”

The interview is scheduled to air at 9 tonight.

ABC’s John Stossel jumps to Fox

New York — ABC anchor John Stossel, a libertarian whose work earned him fiercely loyal fans at the same time he caused headaches for the network, is jumping to Fox.

He’s trading a much bigger platform for the promise of more time on the air. Stossel will have a weekly show on the Fox Business Network, exploring libertarianism and consumer issues, and make frequent appearances on Fox News Channel, the network said on Thursday.

Stossel’s regular “Give Me a Break” segments prodded at groupthink, and he wrote best-selling books under that name and “Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity.” Yet activists have called for his firing, and the network compelled him to apologize for a 2000 report questioning the safety of organic produce.

“I’m grateful to ABC for allowing me to do stories that challenged conventional wisdom, and occasionally enraged many of its viewers,” Stossel said in a blog posting. “But it’s been said that everyone should change jobs every seven years. I’ve been at ABC for 28 years.”

Heigl and husband adopting a baby

Los Angeles — Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley are adopting a baby.

Melissa Kates, Heigl’s spokeswoman, confirmed the news but wouldn’t provide details.

RadarOnline.com reports that the couple’s adoption process has been in the works for at least six months and that the 10-month-old girl is from Korea. The report also says the baby’s name is Nayleigh, and her nickname will be Leigh.

Heigl plays Dr. Izzie Stevens on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.” Kelley is a singer-songwriter.

The couple have been married since 2007.

Swift to re-release ‘Fearless’ with new songs

New York — Taylor Swift is giving fans some new music, even though she’s not yet releasing a new album.

The 19-year-old country and pop sensation is re-releasing her top-selling CD “Fearless” Oct. 27 with six new songs. She will also include a DVD of photos, tour footage and her videos, including her comedic clip with T-Pain from the CMT Awards earlier this year.

“Fearless” has sold almost 4 million copies since it was released last November. It was named album of the year by the Academy of Country Music.

The CD/DVD of “Fearless Platinum Edition” will be released Oct. 27.

Armani feeling great after hepatitis battle

Milan — Designer Giorgio Armani said Thursday he was feeling “marvelously well” after winning a months-long battle with hepatitis.

Armani attended the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Milan and a perfume launch Thursday. The ANSA news agency quoted him as saying his liver was in such good shape that he can now stop taking the medicine he has been on.

Armani told ANSA in May that he had been battling hepatitis. Several missed public appearances in the spring and a gaunt appearance at the June Italian menswear shows had raised concerns about his health.

“I’m marvelously well, I beat my problem, the data about my liver are nearly perfect — some even better than perfect — such that I can stop taking my medicine,” he said, ANSA reported.

Illness forcing Tierney from ‘Parenthood’

New York — Maura Tierney says she is dropping out of the new NBC series “Parenthood” to continue her treatment for breast cancer.

In a statement Thursday, she expressed disappointment at not being part of the show, but said she and her doctors remain confident about the outcome of her treatment.

Tierney, 44, had filmed the pilot episode for the series, which was scheduled to premiere this month. But she was sidelined in July, after a tumor was found in her breast, requiring surgery. Production never resumed.

Another new series, the medical drama “Mercy,” will premiere this fall instead.

Tierney’s role — that of a financially strapped single mother who returns home to her parents — is expected to be recast.
