“Hotel Ground Zero” (9 p.m., History) discovers some untold stories from Sept. 11, 2001. The documentary offers interviews of several unlucky tourists and visitors who happened to stay at the Marriott World Trade Center that morning. Their tales range from the heroic to the mundane, including that of a visiting job-seeker who helped a burn victim get to an ambulance to a lawyer who ignored the sirens and loud sounds and tried to go about his business.

A receptionist and striving actress explains what it was like to be in the lobby of a 22-story building when a 110-story building collapsed on top of it.

Other 9/11-themed programming includes a repeat of “102 Minutes that Changed the World” (7 p.m., History) and “Witnesses to 9/11” (7:41 p.m., History).

• Announced earlier and postponed until tonight, La Toya Jackson will sit down with Barbara Walters on the season premiere of “20/20” (9 p.m., ABC) to discuss her late brother, his death, his children and their family.

• The guest stars continue on this final season of “Monk” (8 p.m., USA). Tonight, Jay Mohr portrays an aggressive lawyer who questions Adrian’s methods and apparent madness. How come nobody’s done that before?

• Of course, Adrian Monk isn’t the only eccentric with special gifts. On a repeat on “Medium” (8 p.m., CBS) worth watching, a mild-mannered bank teller (Allyce Beasley) appears to have the very same power of prophecy as Allison. I’m no soothsayer, but I have a feeling that NBC is going to regret letting this paranormal procedural slip away to rival CBS.

• “Hubble’s Amazing Universe” (7 p.m., National Geographic) offers an appreciation of the very complex and expensive space telescope and the extraordinary window it has offered on the universe and its very creation. It also recalls several space trips to save and repair the invaluable instrument.

Brad Dourif, Paul L. Smith and the late David Carradine star in the 1990 oddity “Sonny Boy” (1:30 a.m., TCM) about kidnapping, psycho-killers and backwoods cross-dressers. I have a feeling this was not a Robert Osbourne pick. “Psycho” (3:15 a.m.) follows.
