LHS runners take title at Manhattan meet

? Roy Wedge placed second, and Lawrence High’s boys cross country team won the Manhattan Invitational on Saturday.

Free State’s Logan Sloan was the individual winner. Sloan ran a time of 16:01.13, followed by Wedge in 16:02.67. Free State didn’t field a full varsity team.

The Lions’ Joseph Springer took sixth, and Calvin Morgan was 11th. LHS won the 11-team meet with 51 points, followed by Wamego with 76.

Lawrence placed fifth in the girls standings, led by seventh-place Michala Ruder and 10th-place Lucy Daldorph.
