Too much advice

To the editor:

This is about former Vice President Dick Cheney’s comment that President Obama is taking too long in making a decision on whether to send more troops into Afghanistan or not.

Recently, Gen. Stanley McChrystal said the situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating and that more troops are needed.

It should be noted that Sen. John McCain and other military experts advised President Bush to consider a troop surge in the war in Iraq. President Bush, after nearly three months of studying the request for more troops, then ordered a surge, which did, in fact, improve the situation in Iraq.

As for Mr. Cheney’s comments, the former vice president should keep his promise to America and go trout fishing in Wyoming.
