Second only to Christmas in the amount of thematic series, movies and specials it inspires, Halloween remains a programmer’s delight. Few shows embraced the holiday quite like “Roseanne” (9 p.m., today, TV Land). From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., TV Land will air eight classic repeats featuring the Conners celebrating the holiday with their trademark gusto.

• Every day is Halloween for Catherine Bell’s character Cassie Nightingale in the two made-for-cable romances “The Good Witch” (6 p.m, today, Hallmark) and “The Good Witch’s Garden” (8 p.m.). The fetching but mellow herbalist and her mysterious powers set tongues wagging in a picture-postcard town. It’s a good thing the supposed sorceress has a special friend in the local sheriff. These “Good Witch” movies rank among the highest rated in the network’s history, so don’t be surprised to hear that they’ve conjured up a third installment in the franchise.

• “Styl’d” (9 p.m., Sunday, MTV) pits four fledgling fashionistas against each other for the privilege of landing a job with the Margaret Maldonado Agency, a place, we’re told, that is very, very important.

“Styl’d” is either too original or too cheap to put the four contestants up in an MTV dorm, as on “The Real World,” “Top Model,” “Runway” etc., so we actually get to see these 20-somethings struggling to pay the rent on their small and shabby rooms and chat with roommates who have nothing to do with the show except for the fact that they’re on the show.

The kids are thrown into the deep end right off the bat, with two finding clothes for a generic and forgettable boy band’s marketing shoot and another pair shopping for an outfit suitable for a red-carpet appearance by Kim Kardashian, a no-talent celebrity famous for doing nothing. What an honor!

As in all of these shows, the contestants seem rapturously grateful just to be in the mere proximity of the lingering aroma of possible fame. The dialogue bounces between energetic name-dropping and pathological product placement with a few “oh my gods” and “totallys” thrown in.

• Set in Scotland’s haunted moors, “Place of Execution” on “Masterpiece” (8 p.m., Sunday, PBS) stars Juliet Stevenson as a television journalist investigating a 45-year-old murder case only to come up against the same local resistance that stifled the original inquiry. Presenting the original case and the contemporary investigation in alternating scenes, “Place” offers an engaging and creepy study of the human capacity for deception, secrets and fear.

• Rumors of King Richard’s demise spread rapidly on “Robin Hood” (8 p.m., BBC America).

• Scheduled on “48 Hours Mystery” (9 p.m., CBS): a mother has visions of her own death — just before drowning.

• The Phillies host the Yankees in game 4 of the World Series (7 p.m., Fox).

• An evil king (Richard Kind) robs the Crystal Kingdom of its local color in the primetime special “Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom” (7 p.m., Nickelodeon).

• A good walk spoiled on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (8 p.m., HBO.

• Peggy plays the field on “Mad Men” (9 p.m., AMC) but keeps dropping the ball.
