Antiques appraisals featured at fundraiser

The Wyandotte County Historical Society and Museum plans an antiques and collectibles appraisal extravaganza on Saturday.

Participants will be allowed to bring a maximum of six items to be appraised. People who preregister will not only save on the entry fee, but they will be guaranteed a spot, said museum director Patricia Schurkamp. Walk-ins, while welcome, will not be guaranteed to get their items appraised.

The event is a fundraiser for the Wyandotte County Historical Society. Appraisals are $25 for three items in advance or $40 at the door.

The appraisals will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the George Meyn Community Center in Wyandotte County Park, 126th and State Ave., Bonner Springs. The museum has partnered with Manion’s International Auction House to offer appraisals of antique items by local antiques and collectibles aficionados.

Preregistration ends today and can be done by calling Trish Schurkamp at (913) 573-5003 or visiting wycomuseum.wordpress.com.
