A police officer on foot was struck by a black Chevrolet Trailblazer Saturday in an apparent hit-and-run accident.

The call was heard over the police scanner about 1 p.m. and dispatchers said the accident occurred near the intersection of 11th and Illinois streets. The vehicle, after hitting the officer in the leg, continued and police began searching for the vehicle.

As of Saturday night, no arrests had been made.
