The Free State boys cross country team, led by Logan Sloan, won the Haskell Invitational on Saturday.
Three Firebirds finished in the top five. Sloan won the boys race in a time of 16:08.94. Kain Anderson finished third (15:64.67) and Chris O’Brien took fourth (16:59.01).
Also for the Firebirds, Harrison Schieb finished 12th (17:57.86), Kamp Wiebe was 16th (18:01.92) and John Corbett was 30th (18:52.49).
The Free State girls didn’t field a team, but Hayley Francis led the Firebirds, finishing third in a time of 16:10.29.
Libby Wiebe placed 13th (17:11.48), and Amy Meyers was 24th (18:35.33).
