The Free State High football team trails Olathe North, 19-6, at halftime at the Firebirds’ stadium.

FSHS scored with 28 seconds left in the first half on a 10-yard pass from Camren Torneden to Aundre Allen.

The Firebirds enter the game with a 4-1 record, while O-North is 5-0.

Free State will be facing an uphill battle in the second half of tonight’s showdown.

Dubbed by many to be “the biggest game in the state” this week, tonight’s game is a rematch of a second-round Class 6A playoff game from last season. In that one, the Firebirds traveled to Olathe and knocked off the Eagles en route to their first appearance in the Class 6A state title game.

North entered tonight’s game with revenge on its mind and has had the upper hand thus far.
