On a day and night filled with repeats and holiday marathons, the long-running dramedy “Monk” (8 p.m., USA) offers the first part of a two-episode series finale in which Adrian returns to the day his beloved wife, Trudy, died.

Add Casper Van Dien and Melora Hardin to the long list of guest stars on this sure-to-be-missed series that will bow out next Friday, Dec. 4.

• “Say Yes to the Dress: Nightmares and Dreams” (8 p.m., TLC) recaps four seasons of things borrowed and blue, including wedding catastrophes involving persnickety brides, loud wedding parties, opinionated mothers and other cringe-inducing memories.

• Teens discover a UFO crash just outside town in movie-length introduction for the new series “Skyrunners” (4 p.m., Disney), featuring special effects by the Weta Workshop, winners of Academy Awards for their work on “The Lord of the Rings” and “Chronicles of Narnia.”

• Steve Carell (“The Office”) leads a great cast of improvisational cut-ups in the crude-yet-romantic 2005 comedy “The 40-Year-Old-Virgin” (7 p.m., NBC). Look for Jane Lynch (“Glee”) in a memorable role.

Actress Catherine Keener demonstrated her versatility that year, portraying Carell’s love interest in this raunchy romp and then starring as novelist Harper Lee in the much respected Oscar-winning biography “Capote.”

• Cable programmers invite viewers to work off their tryptophan-induced daze with marathons of favorite shows or movies. Episodes of “Deadliest Catch” (Discovery) roll on from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday.

• Return to the bicentennial era with reruns of “That ’70s Show” (7 a.m. through 4 p.m., FX).

• SyFy invites viewers to spend the day with Bond, James Bond, beginning with “Thunderball” (7 a.m., SyFy) through “Never Say Never Again” (1:30 a.m. Saturday).

• “Band of Brothers” (Spike) unfolds all day, from 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. This 2001 World War II miniseries has been a hit on three different networks, premiering on HBO, airing successfully on History and now finding male viewers on Spike.

• “VH1 Storytellers: Foo Fighters” (10 p.m., VH1) presents anecdotes about the inspiration for songs new and old and the chance to hear a new single from their “Greatest Hits” album.
