Senior Meals gets $1,000 grant to help serve seniors during holidays

The Senior Meals Program, a division of Douglas County Senior Services, has been awarded a $1,000 grant from Subaru of America Inc. and Meals On Wheels Association of America.

The grant will help the Senior Meals Program serve nutritious meals to seniors in need during the holiday season.

The program serves 250 hot meals each weekday to seniors. The meals are served in six dining rooms and home delivered by more than 40 volunteers each week.

“This is the season of giving and we are thankful that Subaru has decided to help us provide meals to our clients for the holidays,” said John Glassman, executive director of Douglas County Senior Services. “This grant truly is a gift.”
