Jordan Brown, Lawrence, was named to the dean’s list for the 2009 spring semester at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, by earning a grade-point average of 3.4 or above.

The Douglas County Extension Council annual election was Oct. 27 at the Douglas County Extension Office at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Members elected for the Agriculture Program Development Committee (PDC) were: Jonathan Alley, Rich Barr and Luke Ulrich. Members elected to the Family Consumer Sciences PDC were: Ann Chapman, Lori Comstock and Jane Fevurly. Members elected to serve on the 4-H Youth Development PDC were: Kari Cheek, Trent Flory and Craig Shultz. Members elected to the Economic Development PDC were: John Bradley, Paul Groundwater and Ann Peuser.

Council members who were elected in 2009 and members elected this year will be participating in the Extension Council annual meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 30 in the Dreher Family Building on the Douglas County Fairgrounds. At the annual meeting, 24 council members will elect nine individuals from the council to serve as an executive board.

Drs. Christina and Luis Salazar, Columbus, Ohio, announce the birth of their son, Diego Luis Salazar, on Oct. 22, 2009, at Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus.

His maternal grandparents are Dr. Gregory and Linda Schnose, Lawrence; his paternal grandparents are Jose and Kathy Salazar, Fort Wayne, Ind.

His great-grandparents are Agnes Schrant, Hays, and the late Ralph Schrant, and Art and Ruth Schnose.
