Lumpe, Stuever sign soccer letters

Lawrence High senior soccer players Emma Lumpe and Stef Stuever signed national letters of intent to play college soccer Wednesday in the LHS cafeteria.

Stuever, a midfielder, is among the team’s leaders in goals and assists. She signed with Washburn University in Topeka.

Lumpe, a goalkeeper, has been a fixture in net for the Lions throughout her career. She signed with Milwaukee School of Engineering.

The big week continues for both girls today, as LHS plays host to Free State at 4 p.m. at LHS.

The game is to be the first event at the Lions’ new on-campus football field.

The Lions are 6-7, and the Firebirds are 5-8-2.
