KU sets schedule for 2009 graduation

Commencement is Hemenway’s last as chancellor

Kansas University’s Class of 2009 is scheduled to make the walk through the Memorial Campanile and down the hill to Memorial Stadium on Sunday.

More than 4,000 graduates will take part in KU’s 137th commencement ceremony for graduates from summer or fall 2008 and spring 2009.

Graduates will begin to assemble along Memorial Drive at 2 p.m., then start their march down the hill about 2:30 p.m. Chancellor Robert Hemenway will deliver his final commencement address as chancellor and confer degrees about 3:30 p.m.

The ceremony will be shown live in Woodruff Auditorium at the Kansas Union.
