The Kaw Valley Corral of the Westerners met for a dinner meeting April 14, with guest speaker Kevin Willmott, assistant professor of film at Kansas University. Willmott spoke about Community Filmmaking. His film, “The Only Good Indian,” will likely appear at Liberty Hall sometime this fall.

The club’s next dinner meeting will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Center at Brandon Woods, 4730 Brandon Woods Terrace. The guest speaker will be Betty Laird, whose topic is “That All Our Swain Command Her.” Laird will talk about Elizabeth Perkins Leonard, the first full-time woman professor at KU. The question for the evening will be, “How many professors taught at KU the first year it opened?”
