Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil-water advisory for Jefferson County Rural Water District No. 14.

The system serves about 60 people in southwest Jefferson County.

Residents in that area are advised to boil water for one minute before using it in any capacity, but especially for drinking and cleaning food.

The department issued the advisory because maintenance work interrupted the water service, resulting in possible contamination.
