A driver who tried to elude police early Wednesday in a vehicle chase and rolled his car has been issued a notice to appear in Lawrence Municipal Court.

Randall Liestman, 28, of Lawrence, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, reckless driving, attempting to elude police, driving while suspended and no proof of insurance. He has been released on bond from Douglas County Jail.

According to jail records, he was issued a notice to appear in municipal court to face the charges.

Police said an officer tried to pull Liestman over after he ran a red light heading south in the 1900 block of Tennessee Street.

The man failed to yield, and officers chased him until he rolled his vehicle while trying to make a turn at Ousdahl Road and 25th Court.
