EUGENE, ORE. ? Keith Hayes placed fourth in the men’s 110-meter hurdles, and Rebeka Stowe qualified for the finals of the women’s 1,500 meters to lead Kansas University at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field.

Hayes ran a time of 13.46 in the finals to take fourth. The KU freshman from Wichita qualified for the finals by posting a time of 13.56 in the prelims, the third-best prelim time.

Stowe booked her spot in the finals with a time of 4:40.74, the 12th-best time of the prelims. The freshman from Olathe will run in the finals today.

Corey Fuller (triple jump), Kaleb Humphreys and Donny Wasinger (5,000 meters) also will compete today at the USA Junior Championships.

Freshman Shayla Wilson ran a time of 57.19 in the prelims of the women’s 400 meters, falling short of the finals with the sixth-best time of heat one (13th overall).

Wasinger, a freshman from Winona, Minn., ranked 20th in the prelims of the men’s 1,500 meters with a time of 4:00.51, not enough to qualify for the finals.

Jordan Scott was the lone current Jayhawk competing in the USA Senior Championships. The junior from Watkinsville, Ga., placed 16th in the men’s pole vault, recording a jump of 5.40 meters (17 fee5, 8.50 inches).

Former KU All-American Crystal Manning finished in fifth place in the senior championships women’s triple jump, recording a jump of 13.73 meters (45-0.5).

Nickesha Anderson competed in the women’s 100 meters at the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association National Senior Championships on Saturday. The Hanover, Jamaica, product ran a time of 11.72 in the prelims to come up shy of a berth in the finals. Anderson will compete today in the prelims of the women’s 200 meters at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
