Police surround south Lawrence mobile home

Lawrence police officers surrounded a mobile home in south Lawrence on Wednesday night after a man refused to come out of the home.

Lawrence police Sgt. Rick Nickel said officers were called to the Easy Living mobile home park, 3323 Iowa, after receiving a call that someone broke a window at a home.

The residents inside at the time were not injured but immediately called police.

As of 9:45 p.m., a possible suspect in the case was inside another unit and not responding to repeated requests by officers.

At 10:50 p.m., Lawrence police Sgt. Mark Warren said police had successfully contacted the subject in the unit and there was “no danger to the public.”

Warren said officers were “wrapping up” at the scene.

Lawrence police Sgt. Ted Bordman confirmed Thursday morning that the incident reached a peaceful resolution without any arrests being made.
