LMH doctor to discuss health care

Dr. Matthew Stein will give a presentation next week about how possible changes in the health care system at the national level might affect Lawrence residents and doctors.

His presentation, “Making Sense of the Health Care Debate,” will be followed by a question-and-answer session and general discussion.

The event is open to the community and will be at 10 a.m. June 27 at the Dole Institute of Politics, 2350 Petefish Drive.

Stein practiced medicine privately in Lawrence for 18 years before joining the oncology staff at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in 2001. He has taught courses at Kansas University on the history of health care.

The event is sponsored by the Douglas County Democratic Committee. Coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m.
