Bank, school honor students at ceremony

Capitol Federal joined Prairie Park in a special awards assembly May 26 at the school, 2711 Kensington Road.

Since 1995, Capitol Federal and Prairie Park have served as Partners in Education, working to enhance the educational skills and development of the students.

Sixth-grade students Mason Denneler, Cortlynn Stark and Courtney Nottingham were presented Outstanding Student of the Year Awards from Capitol Federal representatives Jaime Gillman and Susan Parscal, as well as their school Principal David Williams.

Throughout the school year, Capitol Federal employees volunteer their time working with students to help improve their writing and reading ability as well as participate in other school-related events.

In return, students make bookmarks to distribute to Capitol Federal customers, and the orchestra and band students perform for Capitol Federal employees at Christmas time.
