Milwaukee — Aaron Cook pitched shutout ball into the seventh inning, and Colorado won its eighth straight game. Ian Stewart homered and scored three times for the Rockies. Colorado won three in a row at Miller Park after completing a four-game sweep at St. Louis earlier this week.

Ryan Braun hit a three-run homer in the ninth for NL Central-leading Milwaukee.

Colorado has won eight straight on the road and is 10-4 under manager Jim Tracy, who took over for the fired Clint Hurdle on May 29.

With the Rockies leading 5-1 in the ninth, Randy Flores allowed a pair of runners to reach base with one out. Tracy brought in closer Huston Street, who struck out Mike Rivera before giving up Braun’s homer.

Street walked Prince Fielder before striking out Mat Gamel to earn his 12th save.

Pirates 3, Braves 1

Atlanta — Andy LaRoche hit a two-out, two-run single in the ninth inning, and Pittsburgh beat Atlanta to split the four-game series. LaRoche leaned forward to slap a 3-2 pitch from Rafael Soriano (1-1) up the middle.

Phillies 6, Mets 3 (10)

New York — Raul Ibanez hit a three-run homer with two outs in the 10th inning. Shane Victorino gained the winning rally started with a one-out single off Bobby Parnell (2-2). After Chase Utley walked, Ken Takahashi came in and struck out Ryan Howard as the crowd at a misty Citi Field roared. But Ibanez followed with a drive over the wall in right-center for his 21st homer.

Cardinals 6, Marlins 5

Miami — Pinch-hitter Colby Rasmus hit a go-ahead single in the eighth inning after a costly error by center fielder Cody Ross, sending St. Louis past Florida. Albert Pujols hit his 19th home run, and Rick Ankiel added three hits for the Cardinals. Ankiel went 8 for 13 with four extra-base hits in the three-game series.

Nationals 3, Reds 2

Washington — Cristian Guzman scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error by Cincinnati second baseman Brandon Phillips in the eighth inning.

Astros 2, Cubs 1 (13)

Houston — Geoff Blum drove in the winning run for the second straight game, hitting an RBI single in the 13th inning.

D’backs 2, Giants 1

Phoenix — Max Scherzer allowed three hits over 7 2/3 dominant innings, and Justin Upton drove in two runs with a homer and RBI single. Mixing breaking balls with fastballs in the low-to-mid-90s, Scherzer (3-4) struck out six and walked one.
