Shred-a-thon planned March 5 in Lawrence

Kansans will have a chance in March to safely destroy documents they no longer need but which have personal information on them.

The Kansas Attorney General’s office and Jayhawk File Express and Document Resources Inc., of Topeka will conduct “shred-a-thons” in some towns, including Lawrence. On March 5 it will be held in Lawrence from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Wal-Mart, 330 Iowa.

The shred-a-thon is one of several events planned by Attorney General Steve Six in conjunction with National Consumer Protection Week, March 1-7.
