Team sports benefit kids

To the editor:

Sports help kids relax and free their minds. When you participate in a sport or an activity you release your energy; exercise is very good for your brain.

I believe that children should be able to participate in every activity they want to pursue. A child’s life should be exciting and they should pick whatever activities they want to do. Kids also should have freedom on off school hours to participate in their activities. They could figure out what group they belong in and find true friends. Sports also help kids get along with people and to learn how to work as a team. Children have to be able to work on a team and be able to rely on each other. School is a huge part of being able to work together through hard times or just in a group activity.

You also need a team to make them feel good about themselves and to make them get better in the participating sport. Kids should not be overweight at this time of their lives. They have plenty of time to exercise, and enough time to find an activity that includes them.
