Publicist: Hargitay has partially collapsed lung

New York — Mariska Hargitay has a partially collapsed lung, but will appear on all of this season’s episodes of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” Hargitay’s spokesman said Tuesday.

Publicist Gary Mantoosh declined to comment further.

A statement issued by Wolf Films, the production company of “Law & Order” creator Dick Wolf, said Hargitay’s condition is improving.

“Mariska is feeling better,” said Tuesday’s statement. “We are looking forward to her quick recovery and return to set.”

Hargitay, 44, won an Emmy last year for her role as Detective Olivia Benson on the show.

Affleck, Garner name daughter Seraphina

New York — Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have named their newborn daughter Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck.

Affleck’s spokesman, Shawn Sachs, confirmed the moniker on Tuesday. Garner gave birth to her second daughter last week.

Garner and Affleck, both 36, were married in June 2005. They welcomed daughter Violet in December 2005.

Garner and Affleck co-starred in “Daredevil,” and they began dating in 2004.

‘WALL-E,’ ‘Man on Wire’ win Golden Tomatoes

New York — Critics loved a love-struck robot and a tightrope-walking Frenchman in 2008. The sci-fi romance “WALL-E” and the documentary “Man on Wire” took top honors from the 10th annual Golden Tomato Awards.

The awards honor the best-reviewed films of the year as determined by the Web site RottenTomatoes.com, which compiles reviews from critics to measure the percentage of favorable critiques.

“WALL-E” won the Golden Tomato for wide-release with a “Tomatometer” score of 96 percent.

“Man on Wire,” a film that recalls Philippe Petit’s tightrope feat between the World Trade Center towers in 1974, scored 100 percent and won the Golden Tomato for limited-release films.

“Man on Wire” is only the second film in the first decade of the Golden Tomatoes to earn a perfect score. Pixar’s “Toy Story 2” is the other.

Producer: Cherry Jones has gallbladder surgery

Los Angeles — The producer of Fox TV’s “24” says his show’s new president, Cherry Jones, has undergone gall bladder surgery.

Series executive producer Howard Gordon told a Television Critics Association meeting Tuesday that the Tony Award-winning actress was unable to attend a “24” panel because of the surgery. He said Jones was in New York.

A call to her agent regarding her condition was not immediately returned.

Jones, 52, plays President Allison Taylor in the new season of the drama series starring Kiefer Sutherland as a counterterrorism agent. Jones’ other credits include the films “The Village” and “Ocean’s Twelve.” She won two best actress Tonys for “The Heiress” in 1995 and “Doubt” in 2005.
