Law enforcement report

• Area law enforcement agencies made eight drunken-driving or alcohol-related arrests on New Year’s Eve or early in the morning on New Year’s Day, according to Douglas Count Jail Records.

Lawrence police arrested five people on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence or driving while intoxicated. A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper also made one DUI arrest early Thursday on Interstate 70.

Lawrence police also arrested a 19-year-old man Thursday morning on charges of criminal trespassing and consuming or possessing alcohol in public. A Kansas University Public Safety officer also arrested a 20-year-old man on a charge of being an intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway.
