Troop 59 will be host to its annual chili feed today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door with all you can eat chili, hot dogs and baked potatoes. Home-baked cinnamon rolls also will be available.

Nathan Gentleman, son of Duane Gentleman, Overland Park, formerly of Eudora, and Cheri Powell, Eudora, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. His Court of Honor was held Jan. 3 at the Eudora Southern Baptist Church. He has been a member of Boy Scout Troop 64 of Eudora since 2004.

Gentleman began his Scouting career in Cub Scout Pack 3064, earning the Arrow of Light. During his Scouting career, he earned 40 merit badges and served as assistant patrol leader, troop librarian, and troop historian. He attended summer camp at Camp Naish near Bonner Springs from 2004 to 2008. He also attended Rotary Camp from 2006 to 2008. Also in 2008, Gentleman received the Twelve Month Camper Award. He participated in community service projects and troop hiking and camping activities.

For his Eagle service project, Gentleman oversaw a landscaping project at Pioneer Trail Junior High in Olathe.

The Heart of America Council of Boy Scouts of America has asked Andy Dubill, executive board member, to author a book highlighting each of the camps in the council since 1910. Dubill is seeking shared memories, old photographs, camp memorabilia and other related items.
