Brooks Ultrasonic Blind Cleaning, Lawrence, is operating under its next generation of ownership.

Samantha Wood and her fiancé, Colton Waymire, recently purchased the company from Wood’s grandfather, Richard Brooks, who founded the business in 1996. Wood has been working in the business for the past 10 years, after starting at age 13 by helping after school and on weekends.

The business uses ultrasonic equipment to clean the entirety of window blinds — including their headrails — and eliminates the need for scrubbing by hand.
