An 18-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning after he lost control of his Honda Civic on Interstate 70.

According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the eastbound vehicle struck both sides of the barrier wall in a construction zone. The man was treated at LMH and released Saturday. He was also arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated. The accident occurred at 1:24 a.m. near Turnpike mile marker 204.
