Art therapist attends conference

Libby Schmanke, a master’s level board-certified art therapist, attended the annual conference of the American Art Therapy Association Nov. 18-22 in Dallas. Schmanke presented a peer-reviewed paper entitled, “Strong Roots: The Bob Ault Model of Studio Private Practice.” She attended training on professional supervision and the use of art therapy with trauma issues.

Schmanke is the sole proprietor of Art & Insight, a creative arts studio and private practice in art therapy, at 4824 Quail Crest Place.

She is on the faculty of the Emporia State University graduate art therapy program, and was recently appointed to a director position on the national Art Therapy Credentials Board.
