Eudora, Tongie hoops fall

? Drew Noble’s shot fell somehow rolled off the rim in the closing seconds and K.C. Harmon defeated Eudora, 49-44, on Thursday in the in the Eudora Invitational championship game.

Eudora never led, and put itself in 11-point hole at the half, thanks in part to 18 first-half turnovers. Eudora (3-1) will play Tuesday at Silver Lake.

Piper 59, Tonganoxie 43

The Tonganoxie High boys basketball team was trapped, pressured and frustrated in a loss to Piper in the third-place game at the Eudora Invitational.

Tonganoxie (1-2) never led, as it struggled to take care of the basketball against an aggressive Piper defense, turning the ball over 21 times.

THS plays at Perry-Lecompton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
