Los Angeles ? Kansas senior All-American Danielle McCray was named a preseason candidate for the 2009-10 women’s basketball John R. Wooden Award on Thursday.

McCray averaged a team-leading 21.6 points and 7.7 rebounds as a junior. She’s the first player in Kansas women’s history to be named a candidate for the Wooden Award.
