Lawrence Memorial Hospital earns award

Lawrence Memorial Hospital has been awarded the Society for Human Resource Management Jayhawk Chapter’s 2009 Diversity Award. As a chapter, Jayhawk SHRM believes it is important to recognize individual and corporate efforts that promote diversity reflecting their surrounding community.

The award recognizes the hospital’s efforts not only for its patient population but also its employees and the community at large through such activities as internal diversity training for employees and health fairs for at-risk populations. The award will be presented at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 8 during the next Jayhawk SHRM’s monthly meeting at the Lawrence County Club, 400 Country Club Terrace, where the speaker will be addressing the topic of diversity.
