Lawrence MoveOn.org Council is having a Honk and Wave event to raise awareness about health care reform.

The group is encouraging people who want health care reform to drive by U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore’s office, 901 Ky., beginning at noon Tuesday.

Melody Henning, media coordinator, said the goal is to let those who support reform be seen and heard. There will be a signup sheet for anyone interested in joining the council.

“For those who can’t stop, they can just honk and wave,” Henning said. “People are welcome to share their stories and make as much noise as possible.”

She said MoveOn councils are holding events all around the country, promoting “real change” during the August recess.
