Today’s Free State High varsity softball doubleheader against Shawnee Mission North, originally scheduled to begin at 4:15 at FSHS, has been canceled because of wet field conditions.

The rain that pounded the area Sunday and Monday left the FSHS softball field too wet for play. The junior varsity doubleheader between the same two schools also has been canceled.

No make-up date has been set for either event.

As of 1:30 p.m., all other city high school sporting events were still scheduled to begin on time.
