Area towns offer advance voting today

About 100 people cast ballots on Friday at the Douglas County Courthouse during a busy day for advance voting.

The day’s total means 407 people have voted in person ahead of Tuesday’s general election, according to the Douglas County Clerk’s office. More than 350 voters have returned advance mail-in ballots.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday for the city and school board elections in Lawrence and other Douglas County communities.

The courthouse in Lawrence, city halls in Lecompton and Eudora, and the Baldwin City Library will also be advance-voting sites from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

Advance voting at the courthouse will also be available from 8 a.m. to noon Monday at the courthouse.
