Lied Center announces 2009-2010 season lineup

From Tap Dogs to the Glenn Miller Orchestra to a metal-bending presentation of “The Aluminum Show,” Lied Center organizers are presenting a variety of performances for the upcoming season.

Nineteen performances are lined up for the 2009-2010 season, with tickets for the majority of shows costing less than those during the past year.

Value is a theme, both for people squeezed by an economic pinch and patrons drawn by a rich diversity of high-quality entertainment.

“Next season features some incredible shows from across the globe,” said Tim Van Leer, the center’s executive director. “From the passionate Orquestra de São Paulo with guest percussionist, Dame Evelyn Glennie, to the traditional Japanese taiko drumming of Shidara, the 2009-10 season offers excellent performing arts experiences for everyone.”

Event tickets go on sale Monday for members of Friends of the Lied. The general public may begin purchasing tickets April 20, the date when online sales also begin.
