Louisiana Street between 12th and 13th streets is closed while city crews respond to a water main break.

City spokeswoman Lisa Patterson said motorists likely will be affected by the work through Wednesday.

Crews are working to fix an 8 inch water main that broke Tuesday morning. Repairs to the waterline are expected to be completed today, but patching of the road likely will stretch into Wednesday.

Cars parked on the one-block stretch of street are able to exit, Patterson said.
