Lawrence Douglas County Fire & Medical workers are responding to a vehicle on fire on Interstate 70 just west of the West Lawrence interchange.

At 5:20 p.m., firefighters spotted a vehicle on fire in the eastbound lanes of the Kansas Turnpike. A Douglas County emergency dispatcher said no injuries have been reported, and firefighters have told dispatchers that vehicle is a small cargo van.

A Kansas Turnpike Authority dispatcher said that one lane has been temporarily closed in the area.
