Overland Park ? Diego Gonzalez scored the game-winner off an assist by Jesse Clayton in overtime as Free State High defeated Shawnee Mission North, 2-1, in Sunflower League soccer Monday.

Free State (3-1-1) surrendered a first-half goal and trailed until six minutes to go in regulation, when Tyler Hatesohl scored off an assist by Clayton to force overtime.

“Overall, we did not play particularly well,” FSHS coach Jason Pendleton said, “but found a way to fight back and get a result.”

Free State will play host to Leavenworth at 4 p.m. today.
