Douglas County Senior Services has announced Hank Booth as the 2009 Seaver Award recipient.

Booth is a former radio station owner, on-air personality and announcer for Kansas University men’s basketball games. Booth is also involved in several community organizations and currently works for the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

The Seaver Award was created three years ago to recognize people who have contributed to the aging population in the Lawrence community through volunteer service. The award was named after the first recipients, Jim and Virginia Seaver.

The celebration, “Jazz it Up,” will be April 30. Additional details will be provided at a later date.
