Wii program helps senior citizens stay active and healthy

Seniors can still get out and play golf despite the chilly autumn temperatures.

That’s because they can play indoors.

Douglas County Senior Services is offering a Wii program from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays in November at the Lawrence Senior Center, 745 Vt.

The interactive video game allows people to participate in games such as bowling, tennis, golf, baseball and boxing.

It’s a way for seniors to increase physical activity, lower blood pressure, improve hand-eye coordination and have fun.
