Humane Society: Dead pets found in freezer

? The Nebraska Humane Society says authorities found 15 dead cats and two dead guinea pigs in the freezer of a north Omaha home overrun by cats.

The home was raided Friday on suspicion that the homeowner was hoarding cats.

The humane society’s Mark Langan says 114 live cats – many suffering from upper respiratory problems and mites – two small dogs and a rabbit were also found.

Langan says the society will try to save the cats, but many are very sick.

City housing inspectors joined society staff in raiding the home.

The homeowner and the other occupants were ordered to move out.

She could be charged with animal cruelty.
