Kansas University’s Up ’til Dawn program will host a “Letter Addressing” event Wednesday to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Last year, the group raised more than $5,000 for the hospital. During this year’s event, which is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Kansas Union Ballroom, participants will be asked to send 50 letters containing donation forms to friends and family.

Attendees can also enter their name in a raffle for the chance to win several prizes including gift certificates, bowling passes, T-shirts and iPod Touch.

St. Jude’s is one of the world’s leading pediatric cancer research centers.

It is the only pediatric cancer center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance.
